Chicago City Limits relocated from Chicago to New York City in 1980. Over 8,500 shows later, we continue to delight Off-Broadway audiences with our unique show, which combines audience-inspired improvisation with topical sketch comedy.

Our critically-acclaimed comedy revue, Chicago City Limits Without A Net, is performed Wednesday through Saturday at our theater in midtown Manhattan; it’s an ideal destination for any group.

Shows are highly interactive, as we use audience suggestions to create comedy scenes and songs on the spot.

2) Enjoy A Private, Customized Show

We perform private shows for companies and organizations either at our midtown Manhattan theater or offsite.

Prior to the performance, we learn all about your group – key people, clients, issues, etc. - and weave those details into a totally customized show.

3) Schedule a Dynamic, Creative Teambuilding Workshop

Our workshops use improvisational theater techniques to foster creativity and enhance group dynamics.

This unique, interactive, fun experience is tailored to your company’s or group’s needs. Workshops can take place at our theater in midtown Manhattan, at your office, or at any other location.

Business Meetings

Got a new product to release or a sales force to motivate? Tired of slide presentations and light shows that have become old hat to sophisticated audiences that have been jaded by corporate meetings? Chicago City Limits may be the answer.

For over 20 years, CCL has taken center stage at business meetings held by some of the world's largest corporations. Working closely with the clients, CCL writers create openings and closings for each day's meetings, segues between speakers, live speaker support, breakout sessions, videos and training films.

CCL also performs to the public at trade shows. By involving the audience in ways that few others can, CCL can make your booth or display work harder for you than you ever imagined.

Training: Creativity and Team-Building Workshops

Many of the improvisational techniques used by Chicago City Limits cast members are excellent tools for anyone who wishes to think more creatively and work better with a team.

CCL's improvisational actors regular perform one of NY's most critically acclaimed comedy shows for 2 hours each night without a script. To do this they must be must be great listeners, have the ability to make mental connections that others might not readily envision, and encourage maximum effort and support from each member of the ensemble.

CCL has adapted many of its improvisational training techniques into a format for training. The workshops do not require performance aptitude or skills, but help individuals and groups unlock their creativity and team potential. Workshops are highly participatory, and hone skills and strategies that foster thinking out-of-the-box, teamwork, and idea generation.

The workshops are very involving, introduce useful techniques for the workplace, maximize the groups' efforts, and are lots of fun.
