The CCL Training Center Philosophy
The CCL Training Center focuses on providing top-notch instruction of our style of theatrically-based, emotionally-grounded improv comedy. We fervently believe that there is no one, "right" way to do or to learn improv; each student has different abilities, each performance requires different skills, and each scene calls for different choices. We do believe, however, that good improv can be mastered through the practice and application of the techniques we've been using on our stage for the last twenty-five-plus years—and are still using every night we go out and perform.
We also believe that since students make a commitment to our classes of both their money and their time, they deserve the best possible instruction—which means personalized instruction from professional improvisers. Our instructors are working performers who practice their craft each night on our stage. Students receive individual feedback at least twice per class session so that they can learn their strengths and improve their weaknesses, and work closely with the Training Center staff to provide proper placement for students of all levels, whether they've been with us for years or are joining us for the first time.
